A major leak of internal financial information from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment has revealed an increasing reliance of the super-Ministry on recruitment firms.

In the interest of transparency the Weekend Herald is making the leaked information available. The leaked data includes details of both the contractors and consultants that MBIE uses.

In order to protect individual's privacy the contractor data has been modified in the following way:

• Names and MBIE's internal codes have been removed
• Job titles have been removed where a given supplier/job title combination occurs less than 3 times
• Supplier names have been withheld if a given supplier has provided less than 3 contractors

Companies that provided less than $50,000 in consulting services over the last 4 years have been removed from the consultant data. Consulting contract details that included indivdual information have been altered or removed.
